Countless visitors flock to Wales to soak up the stunning beauty and breathtaking scenery the nation offers, with many eager to tackle the challenge of scaling Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon), despite the adventure often bringing unexpected surprises. One woman recently discovered just how demanding the experience can be, as she filmed her Mount Snowdon expedition for everyone to witness.

The woman, going by runnerbean18 on TikTok, confessed she wanted to demonstrate what it's really like to face the challenge as a 53-year-old, and it seems there were quite a few shocks waiting for her. After all, conquering the mountain is no simple task, requiring considerable time and effort to complete the mission.

Following her journey to Wales, she revealed exactly how the adventure made her feel. This comes after another woman recently disclosed how dramatically different she appeared before and after conquering Yr Wyddfa.

In footage posted online, she remarked: "Let's talk about what it's really like to climb a mountain when you're 53, 12-and-a-half stone and really not that fit. I really do have all the gear and absolutely no idea."

During her trek, she revealed: "So, I've been going for almost two hours, but look how much longer we've got to go. Yep, that whole path, and then up into the clouds somewhere.

"I don't know where. I really was as p****d off as I look. Time for a lunch stop. Much needed, but look at the view I've got for my lunch."

Despite not realising the length of time it would take to complete her walk, she was enamoured by the view. However, she confessed to having a fear of heights.

She also shared with her followers the state of the paths during her journey. Eventually, she revealed that she made it to the top, although she could have taken a train instead.

Since sharing the video, it has been viewed hundreds of times and received numerous comments. Despite her humorous commentary throughout, viewers praised her for maintaining a "really good pace" and commended her effort.

One viewer commented: "It's hard, but extremely satisfying afterwards." Another added: "Amazing, go you. I can't even run a bath."

A third chimed in with: "Wow - you're doing amazing." A fourth person also remarked: "Amazing - you've inspired me."

Even though she joked about the difficulty of the hike, she conceded in the comments that it was worth the effort. She also mentioned feeling very satisfied afterwards.

Yr Wyddfa is a mountain located in Snowdonia, North Wales. It holds the title of the tallest mountain in Wales, standing at an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level. It is also the highest peak in the British Isles outside of the Scottish Highlands.

Yr Wyddfa is recognised as a national nature reserve due to its unique flora and fauna. Those wishing to visit can find it nestled within Snowdonia National Park.

There are several lakes dotted across the mountain, with the biggest being Llyn Lydaw, positioned on the eastern side. Previously, the peak has earned the title of the "busiest in the United Kingdom."

In 2022, records showed that 543,541 hikers had scaled its heights. Six principal routes lead to the top, with the most favoured beginning in the town of Llanberis to the north.

The summit can also be reached using the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which transported 98,567 passengers in 2021. It's an incredibly popular peak that attracts thousands of visitors annually.

During particularly hectic times, such as summer weekends, climbers have been spotted forming queues at the top of Yr Wyddfa to access the summit marker. This typically occurs at the steps approaching the trig point; nevertheless, it remains possible to appreciate the summit without joining the line.
